Country Gender Assessment of the Agriculture and Rural Sector Guyana

Gender equality is essential to sustainable development and necessary to eradicate hunger, malnutrition, and poverty, resulting in a better life for all. Eliminating deep-rooted inequalities and closing the gender gap are part of the mandate of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), which seeks to achieve food security by improving access to healthy and nutritious foods and increasing opportunities available to vulnerable population groups.
