United Nations Day 2021 Message by Yeşim Oruç, UN Resident Coordinator
24 October 2021
Hello, my name is Yeşim. I am the new Resident Coordinator here in Guyana.
Today is UN Day. Seventy-six years ago, today, the United Nations was created as a vehicle of hope for a world emerging from catastrophic conflict. For me, UN Day is a time when we reflect on our core values. Our core values that have fueled the work of the organization. Our core values which are embodied in the Charter. We reaffirm our faith in the core values of human rights, the dignity of the human person, and the equal rights of men and women of nations large and small. We reaffirm our commitment to promote a better life for men, women, and children, and in greater freedom.
