US $15M Sustainable Land Development and Management Project launched

This agreement now paves the way for the establishment of an enabling environment for promoting sustainable and climate-resilient land development, management and reclamation in support of Guyana’s Green State Development Strategy among many other possibilities.

The simple ceremony that was held in the Baridi Benab of State House-the official residence of the president of Guyana, saw the attendance of over fifty-five persons including His Excellency Mr. David Arthur Granger, President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana; Hon. Winston Jordan, Minister of Finance; Hon. Joseph Harmon, Minister of State with responsibility for Lands and Surveys Commission; other government ministers, Ms. Mikiko Tanaka, UN Resident Coordinator; Mr. Reuben Robertson, Representative of FAO Guyana; and Dr. Marlon Bristol, Chief Executive Officer of the Project Management Organisation of the GRIF; Mr. Trevor Benn, Commissioner, Guyana Lands and Survey Commission.
